Off-grid solar power systems provide continuous, around-the-clock energy reliability for remote locations without access to the electricity network, using solar generation, battery storage and generator backup. Now available in New Zealand through local distributor Youngman Richardson, the Makinex Renewables HPS has proven to be one of the most versatile and advanced off-grid power systems around.
“The Makinex Renewables Hybrid Power System not only provides grid-like electricity in areas where network power is unavailable but is a viable alternative,” explains Phil Fairfield, sales director at YR. “The system itself consists of roof mounted solar panels, a lithium battery bank to store energy, an integrated diesel generator and an inverter to act as an interface between the different inputs.”
“By deploying HPS units, we anticipate saving the construction industry per year up to 2.5 million Litres of Diesel Fuel, reducing Carbon Emissions by 6,609 tonnes – equivalent to taking 1,437 cars off the road*,” says Craig Skipsey general manager – Makinex Renewables. “This is supported by the opening of the Makinex Renewables Innovation Centre which aims to increase HPS unit production by 500% to meet surging demand.”
Hybrid power generation systems can also provide a higher level of energy flexibility by merging one or two additional power generation methods such as the HPS, assisting with fuel and energy security.
The Single-Skid System Consists of solar panels, lithium batteries and a back up generator all intelligently controlled to provide continuous power. Primarily deployed for smaller power needs, saving up to 300L diesel and 750kg of CO2 every week.
The Double-Skid System includes a battery/control skid and a generator/tank skids which simply plug together using cables. Used to power large construction compounds, saving up to 700L of diesel and 2 Tonnes of CO2 per week.
Take advantage of your container roof space on-site with solar modules which drop straight onto a standard 20ft container. Output is AC-coupled so it can be wired into anywhere on the AC bus with any HPS or BESS (Battery Energy Storage System).
Either integrate the stand-alone, small footprint Battery Energy Storage System into an existing generator and/or solar system as part of a hybrid solution or as a stand-alone, short term power supply. Available with power output from 10-100kW and battery capacity of 15-140kWh.
